if you are the sun
then i wanna be the moon
i wanna reflect the light that shines from you
and if this is war
then i'm gonna draw my sword
this time i know what i am fighting for
God i wanna let you know
i want everything you are
i'm waiting for the morning light to show
a fire in the dark
shine your light
i wanna feel you now
god i need a miracle
take my heart
make it glow
shine your light
from the inside out
i wanna be more like you
if you are the sun
i wanna be the moon
i wanna be the moon
if love is a choice
then i need you to hear my voice
i'm the one knocking on your door making all this noise
whatever it takes
i give it all away
i wanna show my love in a thousand ways
God i wanna let you know
i love everything you are
i'm waiting for the morning light to show
a fire in the dark
shine your light
i wanna feel you now
God i need a miracle
take my heart
make it glow
shine your light
from the inside out
i wanna be more like you
if you are the sun
i wanna be the moon
i can't live a single day without you
i don't even want to try
and i won't take another step without your light
i need your light
shine
i wanna feel you now
God i need a miracle
take my heart
make it glow
shine your light
from the inside out
i wanna be more like you
if you are the sun
i wanna be the moon
if you are the sun
then i wanna be the moon
i wanna reflect the light that shines from
--phil wickham - sun and moon
i often forget in my short time of having a personal relationship with God that we are purposed with being a reflection of His greatness, and once i have forgotten that i get very anxious about living up to His standards.
i have become better about not trying to do it on my own and relying on God more and more, but "self" always seems to take over and want to drive. i'm mainly challenged by this when it comes to my role in ministry, especially the music ministry. i have to realize that i am not going to be "the best" at everything, and that's why the church works as a body and not just solely on one person.
the thing that brought the topic of this blog to my attention is recent song writing i have done with larron, the other half of "the blue plaids". i have always attempted to write lyrics to different songs and chord structures i've come up with, but without much success. number 1; because i'm not that great of a singer and number 2; because i am not that creative when it comes to lyrical writing.
songwriting with larron however has become a very easy organic process. we have written a few songs together, and arrangements of preexisting worship songs with our own twist. this process helps me to realize how much ministry is not a solo project in any aspect, but it is, however, solely God behind it all.
our reflection of Him is what we should present everyday, 24/7, 365.
"And we all, with unveiled face, reflecting the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.
For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18
